Tango in A Minor for String Quartet

$15.00

Tango in A Minor was composed in late 2016, and has become a loved composition by performers, having been performed by the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s Move Quartet, Northern Rivers Conservatorium Youth Orchestra Strings, and twice by my own quartet. The piece opens with a lively cello melody juxtaposed against a choppy accompaniment, developing throughout the section. A groovy, driving cello line introduces the next section, where the viola brings in the new melody, which is further developed in the violins. A passionate melody in the upper strings soars above the cello and viola, increasing in intensity, before a lively and playful ending.
