St Martin De Vers emerged from an informal request by a friend of my grandmothers whilst I was staying with her on exchange, in her small village of St Martin De Vers, in France. Originally written for piano, I re-worked the piece for clarinet duet upon this request, and subsequently arranged it for viola and cello to perform it with a friend. The performer should take their time with the first bar, holding the tension with the last note of the bar, before releasing and flowing into the piece. The A, B and C sections should be flowing, with a light waltz feel, whilst the sections from D - F should be played with energy and groove.
